Calendar of Events
The days following Easter are a time of joy and understanding that lead up to Pentecost ( June 8th) and Trinity Sunday (June 15th). Pentecost is the celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and followers of Christ. The Holy Spirit continues with us. While many churches celebrate with members wearing red, we now follow a “new tradition” of wearing colors of a flame including red, orange and yellow. The flame is a representation of the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2.
Cooking for Christ usually meets on the third Tuesday of each month. We prepare a full meal for anyone that is having difficulty with food preparation because of illness or physical limitations. If you would benefit from this service or if you have the name of someone in our community that could use a meal, please send an email to the church with their contact information and your name and phone number.
The men of the church meet each Thursday morning at 9am and carpool to breakfast (usually the Summerton diner) for fellowship and food. They call themselves the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out). Not limited to church members, anyone is welcome.
Beginning in February the church will begin offering communion once a month. This will usually be the second Sunday of each month.
Choir Practice is every Thursday at 4pm. We practice until 5:30pm. And additional practice and warm up begins at 9:30am prior to the 10:30 worship service. Choir does not meet the months of June and July.
A small group meets with the pastor at the Starbucks on Hwy 6 by the expressway the first Wednesday of the month at 9am for coffee and conversation.
Please check the calendar for the Committee Meeting schedule, monthly meals together and special speakers.
AA meets at our church twice weekly, on Monday night at 7pm and Saturday morning at 10am. Please check their website for contact information.
